Toddy Hill in the Cumbrian borders.
About the author
Ian grew up at Mid Todhills
Farm, Roadhead, Carlisle and attended Bewcastle and
Lochinvar schools.
He has worked on the farm
since leaving school
where the ideas for the story were inspired by a
pet dairy cow that lived on the farm. In Ian's spare time he
continues to write children's stories and has written many
local history articles and has a column in Bewcastle's Bit
o' Crack magazine.
About the illustrator
Caroline grew up at Oakshaw
Farm, Roadhead, Carlisle and attended Bewcastle school and
went onto Lairthwaite school, Keswick. After leaving school
went on to Carlisle college to study business management.
After 20 years in various managerial roles she returned to
the countryside and now lives in Penton, Nicholforest with
partner Tony and children Georganne and Sam. After painting
various themes in children's cloakrooms at Bewcastle school
was asked to do illustrations for Greedy Cow books.
The Books
